Home Programs: Free Lesson Plans for Home Learners

As more families elect to homeschool or use virtual learning, the Carbon County Museum will now offer mini lesson plans for you to download and complete at home. Please check back here to see the new lessons we are continually creating and uploading.

These lessons and activities are meant to supplement your ongoing at-home learning and curriculum. Please do not sell or distribute for commercial purposes.

Our goal is to offer plans for grades Pre-K – High School that will allow you to explore the history, nature, and culture of the American West, specifically Wyoming.

For younger children, we have worksheets and creative learning crafts, along with book and video recommendations.

For middle and high school students, we offer reading recommendations and activities to engage them with history, language arts, and culture.

Learning Objectives:

Students will read on the creation and expansion of the Union Pacific Railroad across Wyoming, focusing on Carbon County.
